PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is one of the most widely used flexible substrates. Its advantages can be summarized in three words: light, tough, and economical.
The density of PET is about 1.38g/cm ³, much lower than that of metal foil materials, and it has significant lightweight advantages in scenarios that require large-scale applications. Its tensile strength can reach over 200MPa, and it can withstand a certain degree of tension and bending without breaking. PET can be used for a long time at around 120 ℃ and can withstand high temperatures of up to 150 ℃ in a short period of time, making it suitable for electronic manufacturing processes such as reflow soldering. PET has good resistance to common organic solvents such as ethanol and acetone, and is still reliable in complex chemical environments. More importantly, PET is a bulk chemical raw material with a much lower cost than special engineering plastics such as PI, making PET silver plated film have significant economic advantages in large-scale applications.
Among all metal elements, silver ranks first in conductivity - with a conductivity of up to 6.3 × 10 ⁷ S/m, surpassing copper (5.96 × 10 ⁷ S/m) and gold (4.10 × 10 ⁷ S/m).
