1、 PI: Where does the confidence of the "golden film" come from

Polyimide is known as the "golden film" not only because of its high price, but also because it stands at the top of the performance pyramid of polymer materials.

Temperature resistance is the hardest core label of PI. PI film can be used for a long time in the extreme temperature range of -269 ℃ to 400 ℃. Whether it's extreme cold in space, high temperature in the engine compartment, or thermal shock in reflow soldering processes, PI can handle it with ease. Research has shown that PI silver plated film can maintain good electromagnetic shielding performance even after 120 hours of continuous use at -196 ℃ and 250 ℃.

The mechanical performance is equally outstanding. PI film has excellent mechanical strength and flexibility, high tensile strength, and good dimensional stability. 2、 Silver: Why is it the metal with the best conductivity

Among all metal elements, silver ranks first in conductivity - with a conductivity of up to 6.3 × 10 ⁷ S/m, surpassing copper (5.96 × 10 ⁷ S/m) and gold (4.10 × 10 ⁷ S/m). This means that with the same thickness of coating, silver can provide the lowest resistance and the highest signal transmission efficiency.

In the field of electromagnetic shielding, the advantages of silver are also prominent. With its extremely high conductivity, silver coating can effectively attenuate electromagnetic waves through a dual mechanism of reflection and absorption. In the wide frequency range of 300kHz to 10GHz, the shielding efficiency of PI silver plated film can reach 80-100dB. In the 8.2-12.4GHz (X-band) range, the shielding efficiency reported in relevant research can reach as high as 112dB.

3、 Core performance data of PI silver plated film

In terms of high temperature resistance, the shielding effectiveness of PI silver plated film only decreases by 5% at 150 ℃, and it can still maintain good electromagnetic shielding performance at 250 ℃. 4、 Three major application battlefields: from foldable screens to spacecraft

Flexible electronics and wearable devices are one of the areas with the highest usage of PI silver plated film. PI silver plated film is used as a conductive layer and electromagnetic shielding layer for flexible circuit boards in devices such as foldable smartphones, smartwatches, and flexible displays. After adopting PI silver plated film, the product weight can be reduced by about 30% and the thickness can be reduced by about 40%, while maintaining good electrical performance and mechanical durability.
