Thermal insulation tape

The substrate is usually made of polyimide film (PI) or fiberglass cloth to provide a temperature resistant skeleton and dimensional stabilityThe adhesive layer is composed of polymer and high thermal conductivity ceramic fillers (such as alumina and boron nitride), forming a dense thermal insulation layerThe product is supplied in the form of rolls or molded slices, with double-sided release film covering.

The working principle is based on a dual mechanism of thermal conductivity and insulation. In terms of thermal conductivity, the thermal conductive fillers in the adhesive layer come into contact with each other to form a phonon transfer network, which conducts heat from the heating element to the heat dissipation structureIn terms of insulation, polymer and ceramic fillers form a dense insulation layer, with a breakdown voltage of over 6kV, effectively preventing current leakageThe adhesive strength of the adhesive layer gradually increases under the action of temperature and pressure, and there is no need for additional fixation after installation.

Thermal insulation principle:

  1. Thermal conduction mechanism
    • The thermal conductive filler forms a continuous thermal conduction network in the adhesive layer, transferring heat from the heat source to the heat dissipation structure through phonon vibration and electronic conduction.
    • The low thermal resistance of the substrate further reduces the interfacial thermal resistance and improves the heat dissipation efficiency.
  2. Electrical insulation mechanism
    • The polymer in the adhesive forms a dense insulation layer with the ceramic filler to prevent current leakage.
    • The high breakdown voltage of the substrate (≥ 5kV/mm) ensures safety in high voltage environments.

Precautions for use:

  1. Surface Treatment
    • Before pasting, clean the surface of the substrate to remove impurities such as oil and dust, and ensure that the tape is in full contact with the contact surface.
  2. Pasting process:
    • Apply appropriate pressure (≥ 0.5MPa), eliminate interface air, and avoid bubbles or voids.
    • Avoid excessive stretching of the tape to prevent the thermal network from breaking.
  3. Curing conditions:
    • Choose hot pressing or room temperature curing according to the type of tape to ensure complete cross-linking of the adhesive.
  4. Storage conditions:
    • Store in a cool and dry environment, avoid direct sunlight and high temperatures, and prevent the adhesive layer from aging.
  5. Application restrictions:
    • Prohibited for use in scenarios beyond the temperature tolerance range to prevent tape carbonization or failure.
    • Avoid contact with corrosive media such as strong acids and bases to prevent performance degradation
